From 22 to 29 September, 24 students from four European universities of applied sciences, together with 3 NGOs, developed a game concept on children’s rights. The target group is children in primary school (Netherlands groups 7 and 8). The students develop the game concept at the Nordhausen Hochschule. The game will be available in French, English, Dutch, German and Portuguese and will be available free of charge to all primary schools in Europe.
The game is part of the European project Games for Goals, which is made possible with an Erasmus+ grant from the EU. From the Netherlands, Inholland and the Haarlem-Mutare Twin Cities are working on the game. They do this together with Nordhausen Hochschule Germany, Instituto Superior Politécnico Gaya (Portugal), AP Hogeschool Antwerpen (Belgium) and the French NGOs Kurioz and Le Partenariat.
This week, students and teachers worked together intensively on game ideas and content. Everyone is satisfied with the result. Aim of the game is to know the right to be yourself. Even as a child. The board game Ticket to rigths was played in four groups on Saturday, and looks very nice in the prototype version. In the coming months, it will be developed into a game that will soon be free for everyone to download in 5 languages.
