Interactive contact between student at Haarlem and Mutare
How does live at your city looks like?
Zimquest is an interactive programme that has been developed by the City Link. Student from secondary schools at Haarlem work during a period of six to ten weeks together with student from secondary schools at Mutare. Each team consists of two students from Mutare and two from Haarlem they work together on an assignment.
After a thorough introduction – how big is your family, how does your day looks like – they ask each other questions about their country and way of living. That can be questions about daily live, the current news, people meeting on the street, sport, market. But also subjects like how is your school, what you want to become in live.
Questions are asked about TV series and famous sportsman who are internationally famous and there are assignments about oral history. The students ask their grandparents about events that have taken place during their live. Also saying are compared and advise about what to do about complaints.
Through the interactive contact the students learn directly about the live in the other country, stereotypes and prejudice are addressed.
The programme is made for the higher groups of secondary schools.

Teams from Sakubva Secondary School, Mutare Girls Highschool, the Coornhert Lyceum and the Schoter Scholengemeenschap, have met each other through Zimquest.
